Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm not really bothered about image but I like the fact it that looks a bit different from ordinary Mondeos. I like to think it identifies you as more of a car enthusiast if you go for a more interesting choice, even if it's a pretty ordinary car.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
It has been very well received by freinds and family alike. The body kit and alloy wheels give it a sporty stance that goes down well, and it's a nice car to be a passenger in as well as drive.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, it's great to drive, practical and looks good. The only downside is the fuel economy and insurance costs are obviously higher than smaller engined models.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something smaller and diesel powered, but not out of choice!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,650
When did you buy the car?
July 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
I purchased it in a private sale. There's a lot of rough examples out there so I spent time finding a low mileage example with full history. Mine had 68k and a full Ford history. I had a bit of hassle with the seller because he didn't have the V5 as he'd only just bought the car himself and hadn't got the paperwork back. We sorted it out in the end, but buyer beware!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted something a little bit newer to replace my elderly Vauxhall Cavalier. I’ve always liked the Mondeo and knew it was a well regarded car that offered good value for money. I bought the ST24 because I wanted a V6 engine and I like the styling.
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The Mondeo is very confidence inspiring to drive. Corner ability and grip is superb and performance from the 2.5 V6 is very good. I wouldn’t say it was blisteringly fast but pretty brisk all the same. The engine needs working to give its best but has enough punch to make it flexible and relaxing to drive. The ST24 has a firm ride without being uncomfortable. The ride is very well damped and speed humps and rough surfaces are dealt with the minimum of fuss.
What's it like to park?
It's fine.
