Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not a lot really, I was 23 when I bought it and did get ‘family man’ and ‘old man’ comments.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
After the jokes they did like it. It’s nice to be a passenger in, its safe for them and carries anything we’ve ever needed.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Maybe the new model.
What are you likely to buy next?
Golf GTI, just put the deposit down.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£3,400
When did you buy the car?
January 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, the car was less than similar one's in the trader and less than the Parkers guide. It never let me down in 3 years.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I needed something quite big and practical, that wasn’t too expensive and was nice to drive. Friend’s had Mondeos and swore by them.
What was the dealer like?
Independent, so not the same care as a Ford main dealer, but neither the cost.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great. It’s only a 1.8 but its brisk enough, it steers well and the breaks are good. Even the resent snow and ice it was faultless. You kind of forget how wide it is when your on a long run. Only slight issue is the lack of torque, if you’ve a few people in it and you come to a hill, you need to change down.
What's it like to park?
Not bad, the turning circle is fine and the visibility is good. But it is big, I only really notice how big when I borrow my girlfriends Ka!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Only once, a suspension coil went and was repaired for £80 in an hour.
What's most practical about your car?
Just the size really. The boot takes 3 sets of golf clubs, which my mate’s Vauxhall Zaferia wont.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Quick clear windscreen!
