Economy
Value
Bought as an import £3k cheaper than dealership, so mustn't grumble.
Costs
Standard Ford value for money? 12,500 mile servicing a real bonus.

On the road
Driving
Very tight and nimble. You know exactly what the wheels are doing.
Performance
1800 very sluggish due to larger frame. Sound motorway mile muncher once it's going though.

Living with it
Reliability
Never had any mechanical problems, but I have had a problem with build quality. All 4 entry doors developed a leak through the inner door skin foils, which is apparently a common occurrence and bloody annoying! as no recall was instigated.
Image
Getting better but it's still a Ford and there's a lot around now.
Comfort
Up there with the best of them.

Security and Service
Security
Never had any reason to doubt the security devices, but have also fitted a Disklock... just in case!
Service
The dealerships can make you feel like you are an inconvenience, but if your gripe is genuine I have found one that will bend over backwards to assist (well done Gainsborough!). The servicing schedule helps reduce overall costs.
