In their own words
I am very very happy with this car. The chances of finding a 17 year old top spec car with less than 30k on the clock was small but I did with thanks to my brothers help. Having owned the same spec and year estate about 10 years ago I knew what to expect and was not disappointed at all. It’s comfortable and incredibly well equipped (heated/cooled and electrically adjustable seats, climate control, auto dip mirrors, headlights and wipers etc, etc..) with typically Ford reliability. Ok so maybe given a choice I would have gone for a different colour than metallic gold but beggars and choosers so they say.. The High Intensity Discharge headlamps are brilliant and something my old one was lacking. But it’s every bit the car you’d expect from a top spec Ford. I drive short distances to work and back but it still returns about 41mpg and on a long run 55mpg is not unheard of. With such low mileage I know that I have a long while until I need to look at injectors or anything like that so I’m a happy man. One thing I have done to make it a little nicer and better protected is to fit wind deflectors on all 4 doors and a set of genuine Ford mudflaps to keep the outside damage free. Find as low mileage and well cared for example as you can and I promise you’ll not be disappointed!!
How reliable do you find the car?
Common problem with these cars are the doors leaking in heavy rain. Popped the door cards off, repealed the membranes and job done no more wet carpetsDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
I had the estate version of this car many years back and knew what to expect. Apart from the smaller boot it’s every bit as good as I expected!About their car
