Economy
Value
Cost me £11,000 for a 5 month old 52 plate with 6000 miles on the clock
Costs
Average 40 to the gallon (lots more on long trips), service cost me £110 a Ford Main dealer, couldn't be any cheaper for a car this size

On the road
Driving
Excellent road manners, good responsive steering, good gear ratios, a real pleasure on long journeys
Performance
Superb for a diesel, plenty of torque for towing, 4th and 5th gears are so flexible

Living with it
Reliability
Had a slight problem with engine - seemed to hesitate when cruising. Main dealer sorted it under warranty (upgraded software on EMU), otherwise it has been better than my old V.W.
Image
Feels classier behind the wheel, easily up there with VW and Audi. Outside it looks sharp and clean, but it doesn't stand out in a crowd, that's just why I bought it.
Comfort
Great supportive seats (quite firm, but I like them like that), plenty of head and leg room, France and back was a breeze

Security and Service
Security
Remote double locking and factory alarm and immobiliser are decent (who would want to nick a Mondeo anyway?)
Service
Excellent team at local Ford dealer, sorted out teething problems under warranty.

Slight "hesitation" when cruising. Initially thought to be a problem with the fuel pump lining disintegrating and contaminating fuel the supply. Fuel filter was upgraded and the EMU software was upgraded and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Other
Electric tailgate mechanism had to be replaced (under warranty)
