Other Ford Mondeo (2000 - 2007) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

I'm to poor, and can't afford a Passat with similar equiptment levels!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

It's a bit old man-ish, but I like the understated styling. It dont look as lout-ish as the Vectra, or as cheap as the Laguna. I'm only 22, and got all the old "Cloth Cap" and "Driving Gloves" jokes from colleagues at work.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Would happily buy another. Ford's engines are very keen to rev, the steering is very well weighted, and all Fords give an involving drive, and are very reliable.

What are you likely to buy next?

The new 2007 Mondeo, Maybe an older ST220. I also like the Passat and Saab 9-3.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £12,995

When did you buy the car?

    November 2006

Did you get a good deal and why?

Dealer offered £1000 off the car straight away, and managed to negotiate a further discount.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Larger car than before, very confortable and looks stylish. Engine is fairly responsive given the size of the car, and the price was good.

    What was the dealer like?

Helpful, this is my 2nd car from the same Ford dealer.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Suspension is a bit boat like, as it leans during fast cornering. It's no ST220, but then I guess it was never supposed to be. It is very smooth over rough ground, and is very quiet.

    What's it like to park?

Quite difficult if you reverse into a space, as the rear window slopes down quite steeply. This one does not have parking sensors, making it even harder! The car feels longer than it really is, and it is very wide.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes, but it's a known fault. The drivers seat keeps slowly falling back.

What's most practical about your car?

Heated front Windscreen is excellent when it's cold outside. The large boot space also comes in handy, as do the 5 doors.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The climate control is a nice touch, and the windows that can be opened or closed using the remote key look cool in car parks!
