Summary
What does this car say about you?
I braught this car because i wanted something different. The ST220 is a particularly rare car. I didnt buy it to impress others, if i wanted to i'd have braught a BMW. I dont really know what it says about me as i dont consider a car as an extension of my personality, more of a toy to play with than anything.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Responses have been positive. Anyone who has been in it is strait onto Autotrader looking for something faster, my old man liked it so much he swapped his Mondeo 2.0TDCI Ghia X for the ST TDCI 2.2 (Similar bodystyle and interior)! It has an agressive road presence and people in the know will give you the nod.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I've always liked performance Fords and will be interested to see what Ford does with any ST models they bring out of the new Mondeo
What are you likely to buy next?
I dont really know where i can move forward from this car it ticks all the boxes. I've only had this car for a month or so...

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£10,000
When did you buy the car?
August 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got a good trade-in for my '01 Ford Puma. Dealer also threw in mats and a years tax. Mondeos are great value for money second hand anyhow and the ST220 was no exception.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Performance Blue paintwork and bodykit made the ST220 stand out over the standard Mondeos. Oh, and 3litre V6 performance!
What was the dealer like?
Dealer was OK.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Faster than it feels. V6 engine is very smooth and sometimes you'll look down at the speedo and find yourself on the wrong side of the speed limit. Cruises at 70mph at under 3,000rpm, very quiet. Floor it and the car really comes to life. Overtaking is effortless, the engine sounds wonderful when revved and it has masses of grip and is very smooth. Hot hatch performance but with the comfort of a grand tourer.
What's it like to park?
It is a big car. Multistory carparks demand concentration.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
On picking up the car frin the dealer there was a problem with an air intake sensor which meant i had driven 100+ miles to have to leave the car at the dealer and to then drive home in a Fiesta courtesy car. The dealer did drive the ST to me once fixed which was the least they could do. A few days later i had a related problem with a hose in the engine but was sorted by my local dealer for free!
What's most practical about your car?
Mondeo is a family car therefore it has a big boot, spacious rear and plenty of room up the front. Got all my sisters uni stuff in the back as well as me and my friends stuff when going to Reading festival.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I like the Automatic wipers, when ur flooring it you dont wanna be taking your hands off the wheel!
