Summary

Fast cars have given way to practicality and impending middle age!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Puzzled looks, think I've downgraded by going from a series of BMWs back to Fords...
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, in my ownership experiences Ford quality has come on a lot in recent years while BMW has dropped theirs...
What are you likely to buy next?
Jaguar XF 3.0D S Portfolio.

Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£10,995

January 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, £1000 less than Parkers franchised dealer price plus a fair trade in price.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted something more economical but similar in dimensinos and trim to my previous Alpina B10.
What was the dealer like?
Very helpful salesman, not pushy and a credit to the dealer - pity other members of the sales team don't have the same approach!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Coming straight from a 3.3 litre petrol engined saloon with 280 bhp I was suprised how good the Mondeo performs for such a large car, despite being a small capacity 130 bhp diesel with an automatic box.
What's it like to park?
Not bad with rear parking sensors, easy to manouvere with generally good visibility all round, a snug fit in a standard UK sized single garage.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No, apart from a couple of screws unscrewing themselves (rear door card and boot trim piece) but easily reattached.
What's most practical about your car?
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Voice control.
