In their own words
Done 55000 miles in just under two years. Only major issue was steering rack and steering pump, changed at 143k a known issue on 2008 cars. General wear and tear items, rear trailing arm bushes changed at 133k, original front discs not changed until 145k still on original rear...two rubber pipes for dpf sensor fell apart and brought on engine management light, fords wanted £100 I brought two lengths of silicone hose from Ebay cut them to length and changed myself in under half hour for £7.... £250 for cambelt and water pump change at 115k miles, and £20 for auxiliary drive belt at same miles, £100 for a genuine set of ford front brake disc and pads from ebay....shop around for parts and you can find genuine parts or oe quality cheaply
Serviced at manufacturer's intervals at correct times, Always run on bp or shell fuel, constant motorway miles see 50+ mpg. I have aa parts and labour warranty which covered cost of steering rack and pump...but car has to be serviced by reputable garages at correct intervals. Travelled from essex to Edinburgh in six hrs comfortably (400 miles) and back the following day....regularly do essex to Cumbria in four hours and get out without feeling I've just driven 300 miles
Being a zetec its bland and boring but for 11 years old it still does the job.....its been well looked after by myself and previous owner and this showes with reliability, in the passed 7 years hasnt had even an advisory on the mot.... if your in the market for a motorway mile muncher I would shop around to find something looked after! Check service history and check mot history on line....excellent cars for money!
