Economy
Value
Bought when 3 years old so obtained for half list price! A massive saving of £13000.
Costs
Has been expensive at times over the years - Needed a new CAT Converter and steering column at only 24,000 miles - but i've had it for 9 years now - and it's evened up to around £350 per year for servicing & MOT's.

On the road
Driving
A pleasure to drive, even on very long journeys. Such a comfortable car, with an excellent driving position.
Performance
If you put your foot down, it performs well - but then it's very thirsty! The 2.0 performs well, but the 2.5 V6 must be superb.

Living with it
Reliability
Has only broke down once in 9 years - when the Catalytic Converter disintegrated. However, had many teething problems when first bought - Airbag warning light/faulty heated windscreen (which was replaced three times) fault on stereo (weak radio reception)
Image
Now looks quite bland, because Ford update their models so often, previous incarnations or "marks" soon become dated. This is one bad thing about Ford.
Comfort
I've never had a more comfortable car in my life - the wide heated leather seats are as good as armchairs!
-
Security and Service
Security
Early models only have a Ford alarm - not particularly loud or piercing. Could easily be overlooked on a busy street. But it has Central locking with deadlocks.
Service
The car had to go back to Ford on a regular basis during the 12 month warranty period, (it was bought from a Ford Main dealer) for a wide variety of faults ironing out, but they never fixed the poor quality radio reception, original aerials are inadequate

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
No problems at all, apart from plug leads, which have had to be changed twice.
Other
Heated windscreen - has had to be replaced three times - but when it's working - it's brilliant on frosty mornings!
