Ford Mondeo Saloon 2.5 V6 ST24 4d (1997/P) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Cheep to buy for the style of car (sports saloon) Expensive for a ford especially a mondeo.
Costs
The traction control makes very noisy and jerky interruptions in the wet so you have turn it off, I think ford are getting a cut from Goodyear for it though. Mpg can be good but use more than 4000revs and the oil barons will have a bumper year again.

On the road
Driving
Better than I am willing to give it credit for. Calming and comfortable can be sporty but does not make you feel good about it.
Performance
I have been beaten off the lights by a cyclist (she was late for bingo I think) 0-60 is not this cars strong point, neither is its top speed or the midrange really. Still it pulls well. At 5500rpm whatever is in control of the valve timing nods off.

Living with it
Reliability
Keep some spare suspension springs, they tend to go. Apart from that its a Ford, so expect the worst.
Image
One above a rover 400. Buy some driving gloves and a flat cap, in for a penny and all that.
Comfort
Smooth and effortless in most areas. The seat tends to make my left leg go dead on long trips, and the leather trim side bolsters squeak as they rub against the centre console.

Security and Service
Security
Erm don't know I have never tried to steal one, I'm quite sure no ones tried to half inch mine either, honestly I leave it unalarmed permanently because the alarm seems to have ADHD or something
Service
Ford have to be as board of this car as I am because they could not be bothered with it, or me.
