Ford Probe 2.0i 16V 3d (1994/M) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Cheap sports car.
Costs
Parts expensive, I.e. new immobiliser £400 +
-
On the road
Driving
Very nice to drive if it wasn't for the rev/idle problems.
Performance
Middling for a 2 litre. Holds its own against more flashier models.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Pretty poor I'm afraid. Immobiliser rev/idle problems cause constant headache.
Image
Poor for some reason, but I still think it looks smart in blue!
Comfort
Not too bad considering, apart from rear seating if going any distance.
-
Security and Service
Security
Never been broken into? Good security or no-one wants it?
Service
Service from main dealer has been poor to dismal. What more can I say! They don't like them?
-
Problems and Ownership

Engine
Rev/idle probs will not go away. Main dealer can't cure it… Christ, they made the thing????
Other
Doors amazingly big. Can't open them in normal garage space, which makes it awkward to egress from.
