Ford Probe 2.5i V6 24V 3d (1994/M) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Got a mint one (no rust or anything) with 52k on the clock for only £1000. Worth about £1500-2000 in that condition. Not too difficult to sell on either as they seem to be becoming sought after.
Costs
Petrol will hammer you. 28mpg on open roads. Worse around town. Cambelt change cost £205. Insurance group 17 too.

On the road
Driving
Seems pretty good. PAS, decent seat height, handles well enough. V6 not noisy at all.
Performance
Not as good as the car looks. For a 2.5 with a V6 you'd be expecting about 200bhp+. Sadly its just 163bhp. Does go once you hit decent revs.

Living with it
Reliability
I've not broken down yet and its always started.
Image
Looks like a sportscar (best in red or black). What more can you say?
Comfort
Seats are comfy, but if leather they can get cold in winter and there not heated seats. Rear legroom is poor.

Security and Service
Security
Just an immobiliser, no alarm. Immobiliser does apparently fail easily, but not happened to me so far.
Service
Not had a proper service as yet. Cambelt was changed not long after purchasing, but used a Ford dealer and cost me £205.
