Summary
What does this car say about you?
It says I am a little story, but not flashy (the car is too old for that!).
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They are surprised at its practicality, and admire the fact that I clean it every week, so it still shines like new!
Would you buy this car again and why?
It has been out of production for so long that I could not buy another Puma. If Ford built something similar, I would be seriously interested.
What are you likely to buy next?
If I'm being practical, probably a sporty version of the Ford Fiesta. But if I decide to push the boat out, I might be tempted by a BMW Series 1.

Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£7,000
When did you buy the car?
July 2004
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Good looks. Simple & cheap to maintain, being based on a Ford Fiesta.
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The car is a pleasure to drive. Even after 80,000 miles the steering and suspension remain taut. Roadholding and traction (for front wheel drive) are good.
What's it like to park?
A couple of major blind spots, but one gets used to these. Being a small car, with good turning lock, makes it quite easy to park.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It has been fairly reliable. 3 wheel cylinders have been replaced. Front pads/discs replaced a couple of times, despite gentle use of brakes. Radio/CD unit replaced. Reversing lamp switch replaced.
What's most practical about your car?
Surprisingly roomy for a small coupe. Although rear headroom is limited, it can carry 4 adults on a long journey. With the rear seat folded down, a very reasonable amount of luggage can be carried. Each December, I fit in a 5' 6" Christmas Tree with ease!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
It only has manufacturer equipment. Nothing particularly stands out.
