Economy
Value
Haggled with main dealer. £7000 for a 4 year old car. Maybe overpaid a little but had no major problems.
Costs
Car now done 86000 miles trouble free. Only had new tyres, regular servicing, changed oil every 6000 miles. Was still running on original exhaust until back box went at 84000 miles. Cam belt doesn't need replacing for 100000 miles! Not bad at all.

On the road
Driving
Great fun. Tons of grip, steering very precise, close notchy gear change. Drop into 2nd, fling it into a corner and floor the throttle = big grin.
Performance
125 BHP from the 1.7. Very nippy indeed. Needs to be kicked to get the best acceleration though. Revs to 7000rpm on the gauge with no red-line. Great howl from the exhaust when you get above 4000rpm. Great fun on twisty A-roads. Bit noisy on motorway.

Living with it
Reliability
Extremely reliable. Covered nearly 40000 miles in mine and it's not missed a beat.
Image
Hairdressers car. Fiesta coupe. People who make fun haven't driven one though.
Comfort
Front seats do not belong in this car. Missing lateral and lumbar support to hold onto you in the corners. A/C is great. Make sure you get one with all the options.

Security and Service
Security
Ford standard security is adequate. Not scared of leaving it anywhere.
Service
Ford dealer crafty. They added their warranty to my bill on day of payment ""assuming"" that I'd want it. Car was sold to me with two buckled front wheels. Dealer replaced them after a considerable amount of arguing.
