Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£17,500
When did you buy the car?
April 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
No, paid market rate from Evans Halshaw, ex demo car. Although found out some years latter after car was in another dealer having bodywork damage repaired as car was hit when parked that this exdemo hpi clear, rac inspected car had already been repaired due to accident damage before! Never trust a hpi report as if no claim was made on insurance it shows as clear. Evans Halshaw still have the check every year to invite me back for a service!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed a minimum of 6 seats.
What was the dealer like?
Truly Awfull in everyway. Completely incompetent. Drove the 1.5 hour trip to collect the car only to be told it was not ready as agreed. Chased the next day only to be told it was waiting for tax, but they had lost the v5. Once they had this sorted they asked me to drive back again to collect. No chance they delivered to me in the end.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Drives lovely, handles extremely well considering the size and weight of the car. Drove over 1500 miles in one week in it and it was nothing but a joy. What is not so great is the combination of large wheels, lots of torque and a heavy diesel engine leading to extreme tyre wear, averages around 4000 miles to a set of tyres on the front, be warned, budget around £600 a year for tyres if you fo anything but dtive in a street line.
What's it like to park?
No real issues, car is slightly bigger then some parking spaces though and can create a problem in smaller multistorey car parks.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Dfp, had to stop urgently during a motorway journey whilst it was regenerating. Resulting in an error. Spent almost 3 weeks in Ford having no end of very expensive parts changed, ford uk got involved, turns out it was a sensor calabration error. Still lots of new parts fitted at Fords cost i suppose as it was still under warrenty. Only other faults in the first 40k are the bonnet release cable needs changing due to a design fault, £140 ish to change and had to change all the wheel nuts at 4 years old due to another runbish design and corrosion.
What's most practical about your car?
Space, lots of it. Seating system is good if a little heavy to use if you only have one spare hand.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Keyless entry and voice control.
