    Cheap, only cost £600.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good, consumables are cheap e.g. plugs filters etc.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

OK by modern standards, but it shows it's age. Handling becomes more fun in the wet with the rear drive layout and no traction control; plenty of sideways action available!

    Performance

    2 out of 5 2.0

Won't keep up with the wife's 1.8 Mondeo, but OK for motorways and commuting through towns, but the engine could do with more torque and needs to be revved to get a shift on.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    2 out of 5 2.0

Only consumables have needed changing so far.

    3 out of 5 3.0

Cheap and reliable; say no more.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

The most comfortable front seats that Ford has ever made bar none, only downside is the lack of room for the left foot because of the transmission tunnel.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

    Still got it.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Parts are cheap from main dealer, but labour isn't. £150 for an oil filter from main dealer, £35 from my local specialist
