Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm a girl, I'm blonde and I like it when people look at my car :-)
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Half of them like it, half of them shake their heads in disgust at the sheer impracticality and girliness - but since those are also my two main personality traits, they know deep down that this car was made for me.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yep, because it's so reliable and I love it.
What are you likely to buy next?
Unless there's ever a new version of the Streetka, probably a Mini convertible
-
Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,750
When did you buy the car?
April 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got a brilliant deal - previous owner had paid £14,000 only 15 months before but was in debt so needed quick sale - she'd only clocked up 4,000 miles too!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fun, fun, fun - can't say I share the opinion of other reviewers that it's not zippy on the motorway - I find it more than fast enough
What's it like to park?
Tricky with the roof up as visibility through the rear screen is poor, but you get used to it
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing major at all - have had a water pump bearing replaced at a cost of £140 and the driver's side door handle replaced at a cost of £90 - also a lambda sensor but that was damaged and replaced by the idiot mechanic who ran the emissions test too long during the MOT and blew the sensor. And that's it - in four years. Compared to my previous Ka, which broke down 12 times in two years and cost me over £4,000 in repairs, this is a seriously reliable car. Bodywork not looking so good these days as it dents easily so I have a few dinks from other people's shoddy door opening on car parks, also the light fittings rub the paintwork off so I have a few rusty spots on the bumpers.
What's most practical about your car?
It's not practical, but that's not the point of a Streetka!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Definitely the roof - would never have a non-convertible car again.
