Honda Accord Coupe 1994-
  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Better value than a Vauxhall but no BMW.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Not expensive but not cheap, especially main dealer servicing. Can get thirsty when driven hard - to be expected though.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Coupe makes for a similar driving experience to the saloon/aerodeck. Not that exhilarating and 2.0 model is slightly underpowered for the car's weight.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Not that quick off the mark, has to be driven hard to make it go.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Standard Honda reliability - I bought it because I knew it wouldn"t go wrong.

    Image

    5 out of 5 5.0

I have a subtle spoiler and large classy after-market OZ alloys, so it's not too overstated but looks slightly unique. People do look as there are not many Accord coupes about.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very comfortable especially on long journeys. Seats would benefit from hugging the driver a bit more.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Door locks look inadequate but have experienced no problems yet. CAT 2 engine immobiliser is built into ignition key.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Dealer service levels were poor and expensive. A major service was more than £400 and the car felt no different. £115 service at Halfords and I could tell the difference - they tightened and checked everything.

  • Problems and Ownership

New cambelt at 60k (which is standard) and a new battery at 68k.

    Other

    No other major issues.
