Honda Accord Coupe 2.0i LS 2d (1996/N) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Good affordable, quality car which looks a little different in the car park.
Costs
Servicing does tend to bit a little pricey at the Honda Main dealers. I do receive excellent service from Marshalls Peterborough.

On the road
Driving
Independent suspension allows you to throw this car into corners and get very little roll. Smooth at low speeds but to get the oomph you need to red line it -it loves it too when warmed up.
Performance
No rocket, but no slouch either. Very smooth. If you need mid range acceleration drop down to thrird and up the revs.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems since new. Cambelt change at 60k prevents problems. Couple of rear silencers since new. Usually a result of short journeys. Never let me down.
Image
Rarity makes for interest when parked. Does suffer from "Is that a Rover?" if seen from behind. Useful drop down rear seat makes it more practical than it looks.
Comfort
The seats hug well I'm an average frame of 5ft 8. Does suffer from not having the standard US fit air-con. Blowers not very strong and temperature switch does not keep car very cool on hot days.

Security and Service
Security
Standard Honda fit immobiliser and alarm do the job. Not flashy enough for the joyrider set as no GTi badges and easy locks.
Service
This is my third Honda. Very reliable and quality build at an affordable price is why I buy them. If you can fund the slightly expensive servicing they will not let you down
