Honda Accord Coupe 3.0i V6 2d Auto (1998/S) Owner Review

Economy
Value
As a second hand car this must be the best buy around. High insurance group must deter a lot of younger buyers. Forget Mercs and BMWs. This car has more quality.
Costs
Servicing costs are reasonable. Fuel consumption excellent for a big car. On an 1800 mile high speed drive to South of France and back, it averaged 25 mpg.

Driving
Easy to drive, with excellent visibility.
Performance
Torquey engine, with big boost when VTEC cuts in. Need to be careful when accelerating hard from stationary or front wheels spin easily. Silky smooth power delivery from the superb V6.

Living with it
Reliability
It is a Honda. The engine feels bomb-proof and the rest of the car is very well built.
Image
The styling is conservative yet gains respectful looks. It is a rare car in V6 form, so the image is many steps above BMW, Mercedes or Audi.
Comfort
Comfortably equipped cabin with powerful Climate control. Icy air in hald a minute - even in a heatwave! Seats give excellent support for long journeys. Powerful standard speaker set up with amps for rears.

Security and Service
Security
How can you tell? It hasn't been stolen yet, though.
Service
Lower prices than expected - cam belt change was £200 all-in.
