Summary
What does this car say about you?
Someone who likes to be a little different (i.e. not BMW or Audi) but probably a bit too sensible...
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Good looking car, particularly in Alabaster silver with black leather trim.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would be interested in the new shape tourer - less space, but improved quality, more stylish.
What are you likely to buy next?
Chrysler 300C Diesel Tourer - that's if I can live the reduced economy. Feb 2010. Might even be tempted by the new SE saloon at £24K. Seems like great value for something different!

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£10,995
When did you buy the car?
December 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, just under two years old, 48K miles, £11K, saving approximately £13K on new price.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted something different to Mondeo, Vectra, 407. BMW 3-series too expensive, too common, wrong image. Mercedes C-class too expensive, some quality concerns. Audi A4 too expensive, diesels grumbly. Honda Accord is well built, of good quality, comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. And has an excellent diesel engine.
What was the dealer like?
Good

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great diesel although economy less than quoted, still reasonable at 42mpg. Good grip, steering lacks feel. Comfortable, but 17" wheels do tramline at times. So far, best with Goodyear Excellence. I understand ride is better with 16" wheels and no tramlining - 205/60 vs 225/45. Doesn't look so nice, but hey... Feb 2010. Economy over the last 20K miles has improved - now around the 44 mpg mark - same journeys as before. Best I've seen is around 46!
What's it like to park?
Size prevents parking in many spaces, but reversing sensors makes it relatively easy - good visibility

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes Clutch failure at 75K miles which was a bit of surprise to say the least. Expensive repair - around £950 - Honda paid - phew!! Continuing problems with front door rattles - noticeable over rough surfaces and when you turn the music up!
What's most practical about your car?
Luggage capacity, long service intervals.
