Honda Accord Tourer (2003-2008) engines, drive and performance

Tourer has the same range of engines as the saloon. The (2.0 and 2.4 units are slick and powerful, delivering excellent performance; for everyday driving, we’d go for the 2.0 as it offers a mix of economy and performance. But if fuel economy is your biggest concern, take a look at the 2.2 CTDi diesel. It may be pricey, but it’s one of the best diesels on the market.
Its unique construction means it behaves like a petrol and delivers impressive fuel economy figures.
The Tourer has lost none of the saloon’s sporty feel. There’s a smooth ride, that levels all but the biggest of holes and giving a relaxing ride on the motorway. And it reacts well when it’s pushed, cornering with grace and showing little sign of bodyroll. It compliments Accords excellent engine line-up well. The steering is direct and not too light, but this never becomes tiresome.
