Honda Civic Coupe 1.5 LSi 2d Auto (1996/N) Owner Review

Economy
Value
For £3k and 67,000 miles, it's got the looks, the handling, always turns heads, for a car of its age it doesn't look dated at all.
Costs
Insurance is the big problem for this car, at group 14! I find mine isn't as economical as other modern 1.4s - 1.6s, but that may be because it's an auto.

On the road
Driving
Mine's got uprated suspension, so it handles like it's on rails. Worth fitting 205/45/16 tires too, then you will have the grip to compete with sportscars on the B-roads. Long wheelbase makes it very predictable drive.
Performance
4000rpm and it pulls hard. Below that and you have no power at all. A nice performance exhaust sounds loverly and, a de-cat pipe and manifold gives some extra midrange torque and a even more rev happy engineā¦ plus a lovely sound! Will do 120mph.

Living with it
Reliability
Excellent. Nothing has gone wrong since I've had the car apart from a new rad, rear trailling arm bushes and powersteering pump. (All cheap parts to replace though). Starts first time every time.
Image
The Civic coupe is a cool car thanks to the yanks. Lots of modification to do to them.
Comfort
Seating position is nice, low, legs out infront of you style, but the seats do give you bum ache after a long journey.

Security and Service
Security
Rubbish. Get a cat1. Ones you see how easy it is to break into a Civic it will scare you! I learnt the hard way.
Service
Leagues ahead of Ford, Peugeot and all the Euro lads.
