Honda Civic Coupe (2001 - 2003) 1.7 VTEC 2d Owner Review
In their own words
I purchased this as a 2nd car, and it being a Honda I excepted bulletproof reliability – considering I have heard of multitude of excellent reviews on Hondas. However, there is always the odd lemon out and about. Owned this car for around 8 months and several problems have occurred, ranging from overheating issues to lots and lots of suspension issues. Until today (the date of the review), there has been an engine failure. The bottom end of the engine (the big end bearing on the crankshaft, or also known as rod bearing had worn down to so much thinness causing the engine to knock and eventual failure. It had two oil and filter changes within the 8 months of ownership. It was guzzling oil just like petrol – there was always something wrong somewhere and it was becoming more of a financial burden.
Don’t get me wrong, my father owns a Honda and has owned many Honda’s and they have never gone bust. Though, there will always be some lemons out there so fully inspect before you buy any car!
