Honda Civic Estate 1.5i LS 5d (1998/S) Owner Review

Economy
Value
I bought the car at 1 year old for £9k, I've run it for 4 years and 40 thousand miles and it's still worth £3.5k. Can't be angry!
Costs
Nothing has gone wrong outwith tyres /exhaust/ brakes. Dealer servicing is pricey but independant garage does it for £90, so no complaints.

On the road
Driving
For the money no real complaints - the 1.5 is a bit underpowered but does give amazing feul economy as compensation.
Performance
Good on a run, decent about town, but no challenge to boy racers!

Living with it
Reliability
It's a Honda - doh! Reliability is a given - a 20 year old Honda that's been properly cared for (and most are!) will always see you right.
Image
Respectable car - quite a 'safe' image, maybe considered dull by some but rated by anyone who knows about cars.
Comfort
Really comfortable seats - decent boot space - an easy car to live with.

Security and Service
Security
Not really an issue in Nth Of Scotland - an alarm might come in handy elsewhere though.
Service
Always attentative and dependable.
