Honda Civic Hatchback VTi 3d (1992/K) Owner Review

Economy
Value
3 grand buys you a very well looked after car.
Costs
I've found that the problem isn't motorway driving. Could probably get 100-110 miles out of £10. Its driving around town where it drinks petrol. 70-80 miles from a tenner.

On the road
Driving
An absolute pearler when you have it lowered and get some grippy 17 inchers on there. Great when the vtec kicks in.
Performance
Low-end torque isn't the best. But if you use the gears properly, you can still give anyone a good run for their money at the lights. When the vtec kicks in at 5300rpm, it's a stormer. Just like a mini-turbo. Turbos can now be purchased from the USA.

Living with it
Reliability
Solid engine build and great reliability.
Image
Pretty mean when lowered. Needs a bodykit.
Comfort
Front seats aren't the best, but you get used to them. Room at the back isn't to bad.

Security and Service
Security
Standard Honda alarm and immobiliser. Really need a Cat 1 alarm, steering lock and garage it.
Service
As there are no workshop manuals like Haynes, Honda dealers try and fleece you badly, so watch out for that. Parts are expensive too.
