here is a sensible sane chap that knows his cars and has chosen value for money over image.

"oh, a honda civic"
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. Although any newer and i'll have to get the later model and whilst it's ok i'm not too keen on it. Plus the reviews are much poorer than this model which is largely very positive.

£2,000

March 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
One owner from new, full Honda Service History and in excellent condition. Couldn't go wrong with the price that i paid.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
after having had a Honda Civic many years ago and being constantly disappointed with what i had in between, i just had to buy another Honda

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
very good i have to say. And i'm comparing it to the likes of brand new VW's and Vauxhalls that i have also driven. It's comfortable, easy to drive, very very economical and if you push it it'll go too. All the way to 7,000 rpm until it red lines. The 105bhp go a long way in such a light car.
What's it like to park?
can't really say it's any easier or harder than other similar size cars. If you know how to park then you know how to park.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Anything gone wrong? This is a Honda!! Of course not. Actually a couple of minor things like the heater element which meant the blower would only work on 3 & 4 but i replaced that for a few quid. Also rocker gasket started to let oil through, again replaced for less than £20. So two not very major issues on a car that is almost 10 years old and has covered 120,000 miles!!
What's most practical about your car?
It's the perfect size with a large boot and plenty of space in the back for adults (and i have my seat all the way back too).
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
unfortunately it's not full of gadgets like a Frech car (but unlike a French car it actually works!) but i do like the half leather seats and the air con and the electric side mirrors. And those are all the gadgets and luxury the car has.
