Once again it was time for a change of car and this time I had set myself a limit of £2500. Despite the constraints of my budget I still wanted a car that was a little out of the ordinary, powerful and well put together. After doing plenty of research I decided to look for an MB6 Vti-s.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fantastic! When driving normally, the car is both docile, relatively economical (returning approximately 30mpg) and responsive. If driven at high revs however, the Vtec switchover occurs (at about 5800rpm) and the car shows a completely different personality. The sound of the engine and the acceleration are transformed as the high performance cam profiles take over. It is like owning two cars in one - a mild mannered 5 door hatchback and a rapid performance car.

No problems.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Apart from an abs sensor, I only had to have wear and tear items replaced; however, these are not cheap! As for the engine, the car had done over 90,000 miles and yet the engine still felt superb.
What's most practical about your car?
Has 5 doors and a huge boot.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Has to be the 1.8 DOHC Vtec engine - simply awesome.
