Honda Civic Hatchback (1995-2001) interior, tech and comfort

Like most Japanese cars of this age, the interior is all black plastic enlivened only by the pattern of the seat material. However it is reasonably durable and easy enough to get comfortable in. Easy to drive with light steering and good visibility.
Impressive ride even on sporty models and seats are well designed for support. Smooth engines contribute to a relaxing environment and with the compliant ride quality, there’s little in this class that can match the Civic for comfort. Interior space can’t really be faulted although more modern cars now offer greater room in the class.
