Honda Civic Hatchback (2000 - 2005) 1.7i CTDi SE 5d Owner Review

Bought as a temporary cheap runabout but decided to keep hold of it as its so reliable, roomy, and economical. Even at over 160k miles the 1.7 ctdi engine is running beautifully, and the gearbox is perfect. Very solidly put together car and well muffled for a relaxed ride. I believe it has the same 1.7 diesel used in an old Vauxhall corsa i had. The corsa was noisy and crude, Honda have done a much better job implementing that unit in the civic. Enough poke for day to day use and very light on fuel averaging 55mpg mixed driving. Huge inside, comfortable seats, lots of head and leg room in back, big boot, plenty of extras on the SE spec. Bought several sub £1k car over the years and this is easily the best by far
