Buying experience

Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£6,500
When did you buy the car?
August 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Not too bad a deal… Initially. The car was very low mileage at 36,000 and was a decent price. It had a few bits of repairs carried out as part of the price. It came with a Honda “Used car warranty” which almost turned out to be worth less than the paper it was printed on.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
A friend bought one, I really liked the overall package of what the car offered. Good spec, fuel economy and reliability.
What was the dealer like?
Terrible. The car failed to start after only 2 months.I contacted Greenacre on the basis that I had a warranty. The member of the service team told me I would have to book the car in and pay £60 up front to cover labour charges. I explained the warranty clearly stated that ALL labour charges were included for all repairs aside clutch and gearbox repairs. I demanded to speak to the service manager. The Deputy Manager spoke to me and explained that a diagnostic tool was required and the warranty does not cover the labour costs of the employee that uses the diagnostic tool. I refused to accept this. I took it to another Honda dealership who fixed the car at no charge as they explained everything was covered.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Wonderful. Comfortable and engaging. The diesel engine is very powerful for the cars size which makes motorway driving quite a pleasure. Around town it will coast along in 3rd at 20-30mph while still getting very good fuel economy. A trip to London and back was completed without incident at 70mpg average.
What's it like to park?
Back window is a little small, still quite straight forward.
