Summary
What does this car say about you?
You have an appreciation of design
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends and family like the Honda design but acknowledge the not so good points when identified and shown. Nearly every passenger comments on the blue lit dashboard display and the unforgiving suspension
Would you buy this car again and why?
NO! The Civic has some very good points namely the design and styling, Practicality and the bullet proof mechanicals. On the downside the interior plastics are inferior. They scratch too easily and are of the hard black plastic type. The carpet is the worst carpet I have experienced or seen in a car in this price bracket. It is truly shocking and most probably made from some recycled Mcdonalds burger cartons! The seats are quite suppotive but again the quality of the fabric is undermined by the fact that the seats are looking quite shabby after only 15,000 miles. The rear visibility is very poor in adverse weather conditions and finally the suspension which again is very poor on english roads
What are you likely to buy next?
Most probably a german marque

£1,000 discount, could have probably exceeded that if I had been more persistent.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Honda reputation for reliability, Civic design
What was the dealer like?
OK other than constantly telephoning me to conclude a sale.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Driving it is fine but the suspension is very harsh and crashy
What's it like to park?
Parking is no different to any other medium sized hatchback, that is until you encounter adverse weather conditions. The Civic does not have a rear screen wiper, which is due to what Honda says That the rear screen has a "special" coating which negates the need for a rear screen wiper. I beg to differ and think that like the suspension it is about saving money. Incidently the Civic has a cheaper and different design suspension set up to its previous model, no wonder the suspension is so crashy.
