Honda Civic Tourer (2014 - 2018) 1.8 i-VTEC S (Nav) 5d Owner Review

In their own words
I used to have a Civic Aerodeck which was a very good car, I owned it for 9 years and it was 7 years old when I bought. My point is the new Civic Tourer is better, but for its era, it is not as good as the old Aerodeck. Honda to me were top of the class but they have slipped a little and could do with thinking out the everyday nuances better. Parking is very difficult as the visibility is quite poor, I'm quite tall and I struggle to see where the front of the car ends, parking sensors and the reversing camera are essential. The load area light cannot be turned off when the tailgate is open, when we go away camping I have to remove the bulb, by comparison the old Aerodeck had a switch. Get yourself a space saver spare wheel, the load area is so big you won't miss any space taken by it and experience has shown me that having a spare wheel is worthwhile. And you will need to buy a jack as Honda do not supply one, plus the jacking points on the car are not very clearly marked. Also, changing headlight bulbs will be a garage job, never owned a car where I cannot change the bulbs until now! However, it is a very stylish and comfortable car, not many estates out there which have such individualistic looks. When driving it literally glides along, the dash layout takes some getting used to but now I like it. Plus, the settings allow you to change the speedo to kmh, very handy for trips to the continent. The big boot means that our roof box is now redundant and we can still stock up on wine in French hypermarkets. If you take it steady on long journeys you can get 48mpg. All things considered it is a very good reliable and stylish estate car
How reliable do you find the car?
Owned second hand Hondas for the last 18 years now. Keep each one for approx 8 years and they just keep on goingDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
The load area is massive, it swallows everything. The seats are very easy to fold down flat and the car feels very well put together. The doors have a nice reassuring thud when they shut.About their car
