Honda Civic Type-R (2001 - 2005) 2.0i VTEC 30th Anniversary 3d (2003/52) Owner Review

Summary
What does this car say about you?
Rev-happy but practical at the sametime.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Looks fast but once they've been for a ride, they realise just how practical it is aswell.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not. The EP3 model was the best Type R and now their average age is 10 years old. I will however consider the latest model a few years after it's been released.
What are you likely to buy next?
I'm 34, so I'm probably looking at moving away from hatchbacks. Possibly Mercedes C-class, BMW 3 series or Audi A4.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£3,650
When did you buy the car?
September 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
For an excpetionally quick car, the value was brilliant, given that the Type R was only £500-£1,000 more expensive than Golf GTIs and Audi A3 1.8T which I was looking at.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Excellent value for money.
What was the dealer like?
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Phenomenal - on country lanes, or motorway entrance roads, the car really comes to life. It is rev happy, but the V-Tec engine is superb.
What's it like to park?
Turning circle isn't the best, but that said there's enough visibility to park without much of a problem.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing to date (touch wood).
What's most practical about your car?
Boot space is superb.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Great seats.
