Summary
What does this car say about you?
Probably that I am a Barry Boy, but I don't really care.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Most people who know about cars appreciate it. Some people think it looks like a wedge of cheese. Everybody comments on the dash mounted gearstick.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No - it's fun, but I want something that does a few more mpg and is more comfortable enough on long journeys.
What are you likely to buy next?
A diesel (booo).

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£9,000
When did you buy the car?
July 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Fairly average deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Always liked the look of it and it always gets good reviews from Top Gear, etc.
What was the dealer like?
The dealer knew I was coming a long way, but stayed late to meet me after work, however when I arrived the car was wedged in behind 5 other cars and had a flat battery. Not impressed.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
200bhp does it for me, and after 2 years I still love the sound of that engine at 8000rpm! Just as easy to drive in town as on a motorway. Handling is a little overrated; it's not bad, but at the end of the day it's still a little front wheel drive hatchback with a narrow track (my rusty 12 year old BMW 328 handled better).
What's it like to park?
Good visibility, and the parking sensor is great, but the power steering goes a bit limp at low revs and it has the turning circle of a cruise liner.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nope, it's been tip top!
What's most practical about your car?
Fairly decent size boot, lots of cubby holes and drinks holders, and the rear seats are actually quite usable. The tyre / engine noise in the cabin can get a little tiring on long journeys and the suspension WILL crack your spine if you hit a pot hole.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Parking sensor is a life saver when parallel parking. Oh, and that big metal thing under the bonnet is quite good.
