Summary
What does this car say about you?
I like to be different, edgy and I'm still sensible.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it, alot of space inside and nicely finished interior. The harsh ride is only noticeable on badly surfaced roads.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would buy this car again but Honda have stopped making the engine and don't plan on replacing it. I would therefore have to purchase the 1.8 petrol as the diesel 2.2 in notorious for clutch problems.
What are you likely to buy next?
Think I may downsize the engine size or go diesel as I have had my fun in the hot hatch sector. Currently like the look of Suzuki Swift, Mini Cooper & Ford Fiesta.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
April 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
I would like to think so. I got (premium carpet) mats and (body coloured) mudflaps supplied & fitted! Would have liked it more if I could have had the space saver spare throw in too!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I had wanted to purchase a hot hatch and this was one of 4 cars I test drove.
What was the dealer like?
Dealer was very laid back, I think he through I was there to wast his time.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The ride is hard but it is a type R. Good thing I didn't specify the 19 inches alloys and get an even harder ride. Road noise from the tyres varies but I found this is due to road surfaces. Speed humps are bad, I need to slow down alot and the suspension is standard as I don't scrape going over them.
What's it like to park?
I find it quite easy to park. (doesn't have rear camera or parking senors). Only the space needed to open the doors for rear access is a problem if another car park user parks too close.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The car has had some recall work done on it and little niggles fixed under warranty. Was shocked at the rust starting at the top of windscreen on a 4 year old car! Some fault to do with the window seal.
What's most practical about your car?
The boot is like Dr Who's Tardis, its massive plus there's plenty of legroom in the rear.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The digital speedo, the Start button to start (handy when I stall the engine) and the handsfree radio/audio controls.
