Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I can make my own decisions and I don't take the word of pot bellied ageing prime time TV presenters as gospel. Oh and that I don't have any back problems either. And that I like 'spirited' driving.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
The one's that watch top gear like to 'have a go', about what they've heard about the suspension and the lack 'torques' [sic] over the GTI (etc etc, blah blah). Everyone that has a go in it can see it for what it is. A truly tremendous hot hatch, with a stunning interior a fabulous engine and sharp handling.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Absolutely. Possibly a Championship white or some other upgraded version. I can't see what else I could upgrade it for in 3 years time that would put the same size smile on my face everytime the road blesses me with the opportunity to squeeze the throttle or I see it parked on the drive, or I slide into the cockpit.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something Honda. Something with a Red H and something with Vtec.

Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£13,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, Car was reduced by £1k on the day we bought it. Came with remainder of 5 yr service plan, roadside assistance included.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Had the old one for 4 years. Adored it for the fabulous driving experience, but tired of the basic cabin and drab looks.
What was the dealer like?
Excellent. A few niggles with the car were put straight without fuss.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The pull over the old one is superb, mid range torque is vastly improved. Day to day usability of the power-band is far better than before. It doesn't want for thrashing as much as the old one and my driving style has matured since the upgrade as a result.
What's it like to park?
In a word, difficult. Visibility out of the back is known to be very poor. However, with care and attention its not impossible. If I knock it, 'll only have myself to blame.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Knocking sound from rear of car.
What's most practical about your car?
Boot, and false floor. Rear space for kids and space under seats to hide valuables if left in car.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Electric folding wing mirrors, Auto lights, Auto wipers, Cruise control, dual zone climate control, everything the old one didn't have!
