Honda Concerto Hatchback 1.6i-16 5d (1989/G) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Unfortunately 2nd hand values collapsed just as I tried to move it on.
Costs
Rover/Honda link made parts cost bearable most times.
-
On the road
Driving
Went well when revved. Handled well on the road.
Performance
Kept up with modern traffic, no slouch, but revs were the key.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Coil and ecu went within 12 months £400+ , the rear brakes would've been £600+ if the garage hadn't managed to coax another years use out of them.
Image
As Honda's go, this was the worst, squeaks, rattles, bits dropping off. Nothing to do with it being assembled by rover workers was it?
-
Security and Service
Security
None as standard. But not in thieves minds as a choice.
Service
Very good.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Gem of a unit, slightly lacking low down torque.
Other
Couple of expensive major electrical component failures, squeaks and rattles, and rear disc adjuster problems, very un-Honda like.
