Economy
Value
Spent two months looking for a new car, I noticed this one because of the leather interior. Hadn't looked at CR-V before because I thought insurance would be too high, but its only group 11. Used Hondas are very good value, mine was only £7000.
Costs
Does 20mpg, about 28mpg on long routes, but what you spend extra in fuel you more than save in repairs, as it doesn't need any, and depreciation compared with other 4x4s. Well worth high fuel cost.

Driving
Very easy to drive and park. Looks a lot bigger than it is so can still squeeze through small gaps! Not good in mud, but great just to drive off into some random field!
Performance
Always revs far too high on hills and fast kick down accelerating, you just want it to change down a gear that bit sooner! Auto box is much smoother than the many 4x4s I test drove though. Otherwise, excellent at traffic light races and fast cornering!

Living with it
Reliability
The best, I read these owner reviews religously and you really can't beat Honda . Back door hinges seem to scrape a bit so need to be greased regulaly - this is a common issue with the CR-V and isn't really a problem.
Image
Flash car for a 20 year old! I get a lot of jelous looks - but I bought it with my money I made so don't care! Looks more posh and expensive than it is, which means my neighbours are now green eyed monsters - poor things!
Comfort
Love it! My dog loves it too! The leather helps cover wet dog smells and is easy to clean. Nice driving position, the engine isn't quiet, but much quieter than other 4x4 in its class. Very practical and roomy, other cars now feel claustrophobic.

Security and Service
Security
Who steals 4x4 Honda's? It also has a built in immobiliser and I always try and park next to something more nick able, so no problems, touch wood!
Service
Couldn't belive it when pick it up after service - they had washed and hovered it! Staff treat me exceptionly well, the mechanics welcome me walking in to the workshop and talk me through what they are doing! (Shepton Mallet and Bristol Honda)
