What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 30 - 42 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The CR-V may look an expensive buy compared to similar age and mileage off roaders, but it is one of the most reliable and well built 4x4s around. Servicing can be quiet pricey at Honda dealers, as can parts. Insurance is more reasonable and fuel economy is not bad.
The CR-V isn’t the cleanest off roader around. The petrol engine emits 215g/km of CO2 and returns only 31mpg. As you’d expect, the i-CDTi engine is better, emitting 177g/km of CO2 and capable of 42mpg.
Honda has a hard-earned and well deserved reputation for reliability. We’ve not heard of one problem since the model was launched in 2001 although there have been some recalls including one in 2002 for an ignition switch problem.
