What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 33 - 43 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The CR-V is good value for money considering the level of standard equipment – even the mid-spec ES model gets dual-zone climate control plus front and rear parking sensors. Both models are efficient considering the cars size (it weighs two tonnes) with the diesel capable of 44mpg. Insurance is reasonable too with all models in group 12.
The diesel is the greenest choice in the line-up with CO2 emissions of 173g/km of CO2 and an average fuel economy of 44mpg. That makes it nearly as frugal as alternatives like the Ford Kuga and Volkswagen Tiguan – although both these emit less CO2.
Honda’s reputation for reliability is one of the best in the industry. We don’t expect any major problems with the CR-V.
