Honda Jazz 1.4i-DSI S 5d (2002/02) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Good value for money - DSI S is very cheap on insurance (Group 3) and had great fuel economy: 50mpg in town. Tends to have the basics, the 2002 model lacks air con, CD and ABS as as standard though
Costs
Haven't had it serviced yet, but if brand reliability is what it is said to be should be more than acceptable. Road tax only £105p.a.

On the road
Driving
Not as poor a ride as made out to be by press, but passengers have commented that bumps in roads are felt - that said it is a supermini and not a Merc
Performance
Fine around town on the flat. Found it to be unresponsive on hills + at times sluggish when asked for instantaneous increase in speed. Not tested on motorway as yet, but can imagine that not too powerful, but again it's not why you'd buy this car

Living with it
Reliability
No problems as yet. See coomenst in costs above
Image
Honda is a recognised and respected brand, and obvious that the car is not purchased for kudos but by people who want good ecomony, space, and reliaibility
Comfort
See comments in driving above. Slight tendency to understeer. Might just be, because I'm not fully used to as yet
-
Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser as standard. NO alarm as standard. Little to steal from car, if you use common sense any thief shouldn't really be interested.
Service
Inflexible on price + accessories & slight arrogance - probably individual sales person rather than manufacturer
