Economy
Value
You get what you pay highly for.
Costs
Very economical; on motorway back and forth to work, 40 miles each direction, was averaging 54.5mpg. I am not a boy racer and consider 60-70mph to be adequate in busy rush hour traffic. Turn up the speed and mpg will drop to 45-47.

On the road
Driving
Very good generally , but judging distance when reversing is 'different'.
Performance
Could do with 1.6i Civic engine or possibly the 1.7 Civic diesel power unit. I was disappointed when I found that the revamped 2004 model had a 1.2 litre unit. Honda missed a golden opportunity there.

Living with it
Reliability
New front tyres Firestone at 26k to replace the Yokohamas since new. New tyres have managed to quieten the road noise many complain about in reviews, but has never bothered me. Still I have noticed a difference.
Image
Styling excellent particulary the interior, inparticular the front seat adjuster enabling movement of the front seats without getting into the car. Has been very useful.
Comfort
I am happy, so are all who have ridden in the vehicle.

Security and Service
Security
Adequate, with good deadlock system. Down side only one automatic key fob. Not styled for the boy racer thieves about
Service
Honda Dealers tend to charge high on servicing without any physical evidence of anything being done exexternal car wash. Such good reliability allows them to get away with it. Also you are charged for 5 litres of oil yet the system take 4. Mmmmm....
