What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 47 - 51 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The Jazz is cheap to run with low insurance costs and cheap servicing. It’s a shame that none of the engines emits less than 120g/km, which would make them cheap to tax, but fuel economy is good with the 1.4-litre engine averaging 47mpg.
The Jazz scores well on the eco front although newer small cars usually have several engines that emit less than 120g/km of CO2 and are cheap to tax as a result – the cleanest the Jazz can manage is 126g/km from the 1.2-litre model. It’s a frugal car though and the smaller engine returns 51mpg.
We’ve yet to hear of anything serious go wrong with the Jazz. Interior build quality is spot-on with quality materials used throughout while panel fit is perfect and there are no suspicious rattles or squeaks.
