Honda Jazz Hatchback 1.5 i-MMD Hybrid SR eCVT auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
This is my fifth Honda Jazz in a row. I moved from a top of the range pre-owned 2016 Jazz to a brand new but mid-range 2020 Jazz hybrid, so I did lose some features and changed to automatic transmission, but overall it has been a very positive change. I did have a reversing camera installed as I'd had one in my previous Jazz but it didn't come as standard with this trim level. I do miss the keyless entry, but some things are better with this newer model such as the cruise control, which is now adaptive (but can still panic sometimes about parked cars). There are some frustrations like the loss of boot space because of the batteries, but there are also things that are just better than frustrations I had with the previous model like better cup holders and layout generally, and being able to plug my phone in and use Google Maps on the built-in screen. Turn directions also come up on the dashboard display which is really useful. Visibility feels better too, the body shape is quite different from previous models and blind spots have been reduced. There are still some niggles with the sensors, lasers and general magic, as there was with the previous model, but it is improving. Tar seams on the road can confuse it in wet weather, triggering the lane drift alarm and steering correction (if you have it switched on), and speed limit signs on side streets and in school zones can confuse it, though not as much as with the older model. It does seem to have a little less anxiety than the older model, with over-sensitive proximity alarms and misreadings being less common. It's still a good system overall, and the automatic transmission works very well with it so I've adjusted very quickly to this new way of driving.
Obviously 2020 has meant a huge reduction of travel, so I've not made any long distance trips in it plus it's been autumn and winter so I hope the mileage I've been getting with short, essential journeys will improve with the weather and easing of lockdown restrictions. I'm excited about learning more about this lovely wee car!
