Honda Prelude 2.0 2d (1992/K) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Impressive, eye catching car for the money. Can't think of anything else for the money thats similar that I would rather have!
Costs
Aggressive accelleration = depressive fuel economy, but drive it smoothly and mine returned around 270 miles on a tank. Use your common sense with where to buy parts (not Honda).

On the road
Driving
Brilliant handling, flat cornering. Steering fairly light, but with just enough feel. Looking for another already that is younger with fewer miles.
Performance
Considering its age and BHP, I think this 2.0 goes well and sounds great as the revs rise. Definitely comes alive at higher reves, a little reluctant sometimes lower down.

Living with it
Reliability
Great. Always started, felt and sounded tight, even at 12 years old and over 120,000 miles. The only thing I had to have done was the rear brake caliper, which seized but wasn't too expensive to sort out. (Didn't even ask Honda though!)
Image
Car has gorgeous lines and flared arches. Always love looking in the wing mirror and seeing the arch filling most of your view. Low and wide, how a sportscar should be.
Comfort
For the driver and passenger in the front seat, I love it - seats hold you in place, almost sitting on the floor; everything is well designed arround you and the transmission tunnel sticks up between the seats, all making the car feel very sporty.

Security and Service
Security
Mine had an aftermarket immobiliser installed, but when someone who knows alarms etc had a look he said even that was fairly useless. Invest in a Cat 1 system!
Service
Have to admit in my area that they were pretty uninterested with anything to do with a car of this age and it felt like they saw me as a pain and time waster.
