Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi 2d Auto (1998/R) Owner Review

Economy
Value
You do get a lot of car for the money but a few things were missing.
Costs
If you have a lead foot then the petrol station will be taking a large chunk of your earnings. The servicing costs at Honda are expensive but help to maintain the value of the car.

On the road
Driving
Handles like a dream. The 4-wheel steering really does play a large part. The ride is low and translates well back to the driver.
Performance
Cracking! The VTEC 'roar' sounds as if the car is far more powerful than it is. Keeping the revs in between 5500 and 7500 can be tricky at times, but you can give a lot of cars a run for their money.

Living with it
Reliability
No probs as yet and it's just topped 84k miles. Recalled for minor things, ignition etc etc.
Image
Looks great anyway. The rear spoiler does make a large difference and the colour is important too. Mine is iceberg silver and looks great with the roof open, window down after a coat of wax in the summer!
Comfort
The back is a little cramped, as you would expect, but I sit in the front which has a lot of room.

Security and Service
Security
A bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing so thieves don't generally know what it is capable of. Where is the alarm? Fit a cat 1.
Service
Prompt, good service, friendly, but probably only because they know how much you're going to be paying them!
