Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi 2d Auto (1999/T) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Couldn't get a better coupe for the money!
Costs
With 4ws, if something goes wrong, your wallet will know about it. Rear Steering Actuator? That'll be £2000 please!

On the road
Driving
Handles beautifully. Watch German coupes try and keep up in the bends!
Performance
Being SSS, performance is slightly restricted compared to the manual. In Automatic, the Prelude will change up or down a gear when IT wants, not when you want. In Sequential, there is a slight delay, but infinitely better than in Full Auto mode.

Living with it
Reliability
Come on, this is a Honda.
Image
Wolf in sheeps clothing. The Civic has increased the Honda performance profile unfortunately. Still surprises some superiority complex BMW drivers
Comfort
Just don't sit in the back!

Security and Service
Security
An immobiliser only. Alarm is optional extra. I'd expect that on a Saxo, not a 20k+ Coue.
Service
Had to fight to get the Actuator changed under warranty.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Sound. Keep up with those services though, otherwise you might as well save your cash and cube it now.
Other
Knocking from the boot. Still not tied down what causes it (apart from lack of care and attention from previous owner)
Ownership
Did you buy the car new?
Used
Would you buy the same model again?
Yes
Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
Yes
