Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi 2d (1998/S) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A 4 1/2 year old with 63k on the clock was £5,650 private. Worth getting an inspection if the car looks decent.
Costs
Cannot buy wheel bearings separately, entire hub has to be replaced. Cost £230 for the part.

On the road
Driving
Handling is excellent. Worth investing in decent tyres as this makes a noticeable difference to the handling (Goodyear F1s).
Performance
Acceleration is great. Slow off the line, picks up about 3,000rpm. VTEC kicks in at 5,200 up to the redline of 7,500. Pushes you back into your seat and makes your passengers giggle. Will outperform any GTi easily and costs about the same second hand.

Living with it
Reliability
Appears to be pretty good (had it 10 months). Swallows up petrol and oil.
Image
Not the fastest looking car, but you can be content knowing that only stuff like Boxsters will pip you.
Comfort
Driver's seat very comfy. Feel sorry for the passengers in the back though. Gonna give it 4 stars though as I'm always in the front.
